A new year already!

Start here

It seems like every January 1st I find myself trying to imagine what the coming year will look like. I try to imagine what will happen, what new experiences await, what new people we will meet and friends we will make. However, when I get to the end of the year, I always find myself thinking…that did not turn out at all like I thought it would. Sometimes we lose people unexpectedly, a tragedy happens either close to us or on a national level that forever changes our future. Sometimes there are unexpected surprises that are amazing and exciting.

What was 2017 like for you? This past year for my family has been by far the fastest, craziest year we have ever experienced. Of course running a campaign for a year will definitely do that. We have met so many amazing people from all across our county, and have made some great friendships! It has also been such a great learning experience for not only Courtney and I, but for Seth, Isaiah, and Jonah. This campaign has taught me more about myself, has developed more patience, and has even challenged me to forgive those who play dirty politics and try to hurt my family. It has taught me to stay true to who I am and my core beliefs. I have mentioned several times that I am not a politician, so I refuse to play the games that go with it.  It has challenged me to set my vision for the future and run with everything I have toward those goals! I don’t know about you, but I have experienced enough politics at every level and I am ready for a change. I chose to stand up and be a part of that change! It has been challenging, but so worth it!

What will 2018 bring? Well, the election is March 20th! In the next two and a half months, we will be working as hard as we can to get to word out about who I am, my experience, and what I will bring to the Sheriff’s Office. I could sure use your help! If you would like a yard sign, to volunteer, or donate to my campaign, I would greatly appreciate it! If you have already signed up for a yard sign, you do not need to do it again.

For a yard sign or to volunteer go to:  http://www.eetenforsheriff.com/volunteer.html

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support and the fact that you believe in me to be your next Sheriff! Here is to an amazing 2018! Happy New Year!

    Opinion on father’s rights

    • Well I feel like every child needs their father and that fathers should have an active role in their child’s life. As a father you should be an equal parent even if you are separated or divorced. There are some mothers and fathers that should not have those rights because they are not good parents and the courts must protect the children when abuse is present.
