Michael T. Van Gogh???

Start here

This was a GREAT weekend! The weekend started with a golf outing for the 13th annual Patrick Barnard Memorial golf outing. Patrick was a Police Officer who was killed serving others. This was not my first time playing, and it certainly will not be my last! We had 26 teams this year and needless to say, it was a great day!

Our campaign was proud to sponsor a hole at this event, and our team actually came in first place. (I must admit this was not due to my golfing abilities.) Cathy Barnard, Pat’s mom, and her husband Bob, have worked hard over the years to put this golf outing on, and give generously to others in need.

We went from the golf outing to a fundraiser called the Paint & Sip. Some wonderful ladies wanted to do a fundraiser for our campaign, so they put together a paint night. Now, I must admit, I sometimes have a hard time painting a flat wall, so I knew that painting a picture could be a real challenge. We had a full house of painters at the Avanti’s Dome, and many of them have never painted before either.

I am so glad that we did this event. It was fun to meet so many new people and have so much fun. It was hard to hear the instructor because of all of the laughing and excitement in the room, but everyone seemed to really have a blast with this fundraiser!

I must say at one time my tree looked like a corn stalk, and then it resembled a Giraffe. In the end it shaped up to look more like a tree! We only had one person dip their brush in their drink thinking it was the water cup! As you can imagine, that produced some good laughs and fun!

The thing I love the most about this campaign is meeting people and getting to know them. I was excited about this event not because I am a great painter and I wanted to show off my painting skills, but because this was a smaller setting where we could have fun, raise money, and get to know some great people. The one thing I can tell you is that we have some AMAZING supporters! I am humbled by every call I receive, every message I receive, and every event we do! I am proud to be a candidate for Sheriff, and I am passionate about leading this Office forward!

Mark your calendars for our next fundraiser! We will be in Morton at the Knights of Columbus hall for a Steak Fry Saturday, October 14th.  This will be an amazing night with live entertainment, a great steak dinner, silent auction, and so much more. The cost is $45 a person. We hope that you will join us for this fun evening from 6-10pm. If you would like tickets, go to http://www.eetenforsheriff.fund to buy yours today!
